Madison Park Development Corporation invites you to take part in a transformative college tour experience that brings history and higher education together. This 3-day tour will give students a chance to explore five Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and visit the National Museum of African American History.

MPDC’s Next Door First-Time Homebuyers Class

Thinking about buying your first home? MPDC’s Next Door program invites you to a two-day First-Time Homebuyers Class designed to guide you through every step of the process. Led by financial expert Denisha McDonald of Financial Education Associates, this course equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to take the leap into homeownership.

Participants who complete both days will receive a First-Time Homebuyer Certificate, which can help unlock access to down payment assistance programs and mortgage opportunities.

About EVkids: The mission of EVkids is to empower underserved Boston youth with the skills and confidence needed to realize their potential. EVkids helps low-income, academically vulnerable children and teens (grades 4-12) succeed in school and life by systematically strengthening core academic skills, organizational habits, and other life skills through 1-on-1 academic mentoring, college readiness, and support while in college and summer camp. Students are matched with a volunteer college tutor and meet once a week.

Age Range: Grades 4 – 12

When: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Somali ESOL Class

Somali Development Center is hosting weekly ESOL classes for adult student learners this Fall. A partnership has been established with Boston University's Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, which provides graduate-level student teachers. This is a free class for those who participate and is open to those in need. Students will be provided with materials such as Chromebooks to complete their coursework on the journey to learning their second language.
