Madison Park Development Corporation Celebrates 40 Years: 1966-2006

Founded in 1966, Madison Park Development Corporation has pursued its mission to foster the social, physical, economic, and cultural renaissance of the Roxbury Community.

On June 1st, 2006 Madison Park Development Corporation celebrated Roxbury's Renaissance with a benefit at Roxbury Center for Arts at Hibernian Hall. Four community leaders were honored as "Catalysts for Change" at the gala celebration of MPDC's 40 years of service to the community. Robert Gallery, Terrance Childs, Monalisa Smith, and Candelaria Silva-Collins were presented their awards by Jeanne Pinado, MPDC's Executive Director.

"We have great cause to celebrate this evening, Executive Director, Pinado, told those in attendance. She noted MPDC's long, successful track record of producing affordable homes, providing technology training and wireless internet to residents, providing after school programs for youth, working with local leaders to use their collective political and economic power to advocate for positive change and, devising economic strategy that uses our arts and cultural assets to promote economic development and deal with the root cause of poverty in our community and restoring commercial properties, like Hibernian Hall, that bring new businesses and jobs to Roxbury".
