On Friday, October 28, MPDC celebrated 50 years of activism, renewal, and culture at its anniversary gala. Hibernian Hall’s ballroom was filled with over 200 friends and supporters who came out to honor the occasion. Guests were treated to music, live entertainment, and a special video premiere of the MPDC @ 50 video (see below). This year’s community catalyst recipients were State Representative Gloria Fox, Bing Broderick (Haley House), Eric Hall Sr. (Orchard Gardens Resident Association), Jacqui Parker (Our Place Theater Company), Joyce Stanley (Dudley Square Main Streets), Darnell Williams (Urban League Eastern Mass), and Mary Green (Orchard Gardens Resident).

MPDC also debuted a sparkling new marquee for Hibernian Hall (shown in slideshow) that was raised and installed on the building’s exterior a few short hours before the gala got underway. Next time you drive by the hall be sure to take a look!
