The Yawkey Club of Roxbury, part of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) will be hosting “The Future is You 2022” on Tuesday, March 22, as an opportunity to gather as a community and honor female community leaders in honor of Women’s History Month.

“It is with immense pride that we celebrate our 2nd Annual Women’s History Month celebration, by honoring powerful and impactful women who are leading in Greater Boston and beyond,” said Andrea Swain, the Club’s Executive Director. “This event is the brainchild of a Club alumna, Amber Reese, and, indeed, our members thrive when they witness strong female leaders driving our communities.”

Madison Park Development Corporation’s very own Deputy Director, Ingrid Tucker, will be amongst the list of honorees for the event! Others include Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Michele Courton Brown, VP of Business Development and Managing Director of Zaffre Investments, Naisha Bradley, Chief Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Office at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, entrepreneur Shellee Mendes, and Dana Smith, Jennifer Medina, and the Ready to Work team at Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston.

Dr. Tucker’s amazing achievement accurately reflects the amount of hard work, time, and dedication that she has not only invested in the MPDC community but, additionally, throughout her career as a leader. Dr. Tucker currently serves on several boards, including the AISNE Membership (Accreditation) Team, St. John Paul Catholic School in Dorchester, and a member of the Cardinal’s Advisory Board. Dr. Tucker and her husband Phillip are the co-founders and Pastors of Awaken Christian Church. She is a native of Roxbury and is a die-hard New England sports fan. She enjoys traveling, writing, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Tucker has a longtime commitment to service learning in socio-economically disadvantaged communities and is passionate about children and education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Ohio Wesleyan University. During her senior year in college, she was an exchange student at Spelman College. In addition, she received a Master of Public Administration from Clark Atlanta University and a Doctorate in Education from Boston College.
