U-N-I-T-Y! – 2nd Annual NeighborWorks Week Unity Day Recap

07.31.2017

Our 2nd Annual Unity Day was held in Hibernian Hall on Saturday, July 17!  It was a fun-filled day for over 125 MPDC residents and children.  Guided by the theme of Only Neighbors Can Build Neighborhoods, Community Action, MPDC Summer Youth Leaders, and Winn and Trinity Management staff provided a welcoming environment for residents of all ages.  Our younger residents enjoyed face painting, sand art crafts, and musical chairs and received book bags containing school supplies.  Adult residents played MPDC Community Bingo, musical chairs (Yes!), and participated in raffles and the creation of the MPDC Peace Tree with leaves adorned by residents in remembrance of loved ones.  The Peace Tree will eventually live at the new Dewitt Center, currently under construction.

Thank you to Jeanne Pinado, our CEO, and Abrigal Forrester, Director of Community Action for welcoming residents, recognizing MPDC and our management staff for all of their hard work and service to residents, as well as calling raffles and distributing prizes.  Special thanks to the MPDC Summer Youth Employment Leaders for their great work with setting up and breaking down the tables, face painting, arts & crafts, as well as serving food to residents.  Thank you Lisa Morishanti, MPDC Board member, for attending and sharing your smile with our residents.  Great appreciation to Michael Williams, NeighborWorks Relationship Manager, for attending and supporting the success of our NeighborWorks Week Unity Day 2017.
