DESCRIPTION:Hibernian Hall is collaborating with the American Repertory Theater this Halloween for the “ArBOOretum Sunday Funday” event at The Arnold Arboretum. Dress up in your favorite Halloween outfit and come join us for a free family-friendly event for a day of self-guided crafts and activities! Families can pick up a festive craft kit at the pavilion and set up for a day of creation at the beautiful Leventritt Shrub and Vine Garden lawn.\nYou are also welcome to enjoy the six-stop Bat Wonder Spot exploration around the Arboretum\, as well as the audio plays and movement meditations of The Arboretum Experience. This event is open to children of all ages. All participants are invited to maintain social distancing and wear masks throughout the event. SUMMARY:What to Send Up When it Goes Down
DESCRIPTION:What to Send Up When It Goes Down is a community ritual created in response to the deaths of Black people as a result of racialized violence. As lines between characters and actors\, observers and observed blur\, a dizzying series of vignettes build to a climactic moment where performance and reality collide. Meant to disrupt the pervasiveness of anti-blackness and acknowledge the resilience of Black people throughout history\, this theatrical work uses parody\, song\, movement\, and audience participation to create a space for catharsis\, reflection\, cleansing\, and healing. \nThis production takes place at two venues: Hibernian Hall and The Ex.\nRecommended for ages 16+. \nHibernian Hall\n184 Dudley St.\nRoxbury\, MA 02119 \nThe Ex\n64 Brattle Street\nCambridge\, MA 02138
