DESCRIPTION:Buy Tickets \n“For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf\,” by Ntozake Shange opens at Hibernian Hall on February 15\, 2018.  The show is being produced by Praxis Stage\, as the second play in its 2nd season.  “For Colored Girls…” made a huge impact in American theater in 1976\, winning an Obie for poet/playwright Ntozake Shange\, and then being nominated for a Tony in Best Play that very same year when Shange made history as only the second Black woman to have a play produced on Broadway.  Revivals of the play continue to be performed\, and in 2010 Shange updated the play to address the HIV epidemic. \nComposed of 21 poems\, linked by dance and music\, and delivered by seven women\, “For Colored Girls…” combines choreography and original contemporary music with the original score that features 1960s and 1970s R&B and jazz. \nDirected by Dayenne C.B.
