MPDC’s 50th Anniversary Gala

We invite you to join us at our Gala Celebration on October 28, 2016 at Hibernian Hall’s beautiful ballroom.  With music, video, and community leader awards and a dance party, the Gala in the culminating event that celebrates MPDC’s achievements, honors community supporters, and looks to the future with a sanguine eye.

50th Anniversary Community Catalyst Awardees:

 

State Representative Gloria Fox, serving 7th Suffolk District since 1987, Lifetime Achievement Award – Rep. Fox has faithfully served the people of the 7th Suffolk District as their State Representative since 1987. She has spent her adult life advocating for human, social and economic development issues for those whose voices need to be heard.

 

 

Bing Broderick, Executive Director of Haley House – Bing is Executive Director of Haley House, a sister organization that provides food, housing, community events, and job training to residents of Roxbury, the South End, and beyond. A community activist, Bing joined Haley House in 2005, which is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

 

 

Eric Hall, Sr., Resident Leader – Born and raised in Orchard Park (now Orchard Gardens), Eric is a lifelong volunteer and community leader who has made an impact on thousands of individuals as an educator in the areas of financial empowerment, business enterprise, and personal development.

 

 

Jacqui Parker, award-winning Roxbury playwright – Jacqui is playwright in residence at Hibernian Hall residing in Dudley Square. She is an actor and director and the artistic director of Our Place Theatre, and founder of the African American Theatre Festival at Boston Center for the Arts, which has sought out and promoted works by people of color.

 

 

Joyce Stanley, Executive Director of Dudley Square Main Streets – Joyce has served as the Executive Director of Dudley Square Main Street for over two decades. She has spent her career weaving together her interests in neighborhood planning, historic preservation, real estate, history, and art.

 

 

Darnell Williams, President and CEO of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts – Darnell is a well-respected community leader and resident of Roxbury. He is the President and CEO of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, a nonprofit organization providing services and programs in education, career and personal development and employment for African-Americans and other residents of color.
