When Black womxn are at the forefront of local and national issues systematic and generational change happens; this is nothing new! For decades, the Black woman has been activating this country and this city. Black womxn have been simply fighting for that they believed in, unapologetically living their truth, and taking steps to improve the lives of others. For example, Patrisse Cullors, a national activist has co-created the Black Lives matter Movement, which has revolutionized movements around the world by speaking the truth into power. Boston homegrown sheroes and political activist, Congresswomen Ayanna Pressley, and Suffolk County District Attorney Rachel Rollins, are both examples of a political activist fighting for immigrant rights, equitable health care reform, and racist policies upheld by the government. Parallel to Patrisse Cullors, Ayanna Pressley and Rachel Rollins, this one-day conference will tap into your inner activism, by celebrating and exploring black womanhood, black-privilege, and gendered empowerment.

- Elle Hearns- Human-rights activist and co-founded the Black Lives Matter Global Network and founder of The Marsha P. Johnson Institute none other than the Beautiful
- DiDi Delgado-An award-winning poet, author an activist. She is also a founding member of Black Lives Matter Cambridge and the Society of Urban poetry
- Fiyah Angelou- A Healer, Warrior Guide and Activist all the way from Detroit Michigan
- Carla P-Carlita Monteiro- Founder and president of the Cape Verdean Social workers Association Boston’s own

FAQs
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is limited street parking available at and around the Dewitt Center. Conference organizers suggest using the DTA parking lot located at Shawmut and Ruggles St ( Dudley) which is a block from the Dewitt Center location. Attendees may want to consider taking MBTA or transportation service options as well. (Uber|Lyft|Taxi etc)
