Help for Homebuyers

To help first time homebuyers MPDC offers free Homebuying 101 courses for Boston area residents. Homebuying 101 is an 8-hour course for aspiring first time homebuyers that introduces topics of finding a home, applying for a mortgage, understanding the vocabulary of the process, and working with professionals during the purchase process. Upon successful completion of the Homebuying 101 course, graduates will be granted a certificate exchangeable for down payment and closing costs assistance through the City of Boston Home Certificate Initiative when purchasing a home in Boston.

Qualifying course graduates may open an Individual Development Account (IDA) to help save money to purchase a first home. Inquiries regarding the IDA program requirements should be sent to info@madison-park.org.
