Unity Day 2018

06.25.2018

More than 200 MPDC, Roxbury residents and children attended and enjoyed food, fun and music at the MPDC’s 3rd annual Unity Day held at Madison Park Village on June 23rd. Our partners, resident leaders and staff provided information about financial wellness, education/ literacy, physical and emotional well-being and civic engagement. BEST Hospitality Training, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Timothy Smith Network, The Clubhouse Network, T1 Basketball Program, TUFF Group, Inc., provided program information and interactive learning experiences. A special thanks to the many volunteers including the MPDC Organizing Committee, Winn Management RSCs, Orchard Gardens Resident Association, the MPDC Peer Health Leaders, and VIP Block Captains who provided a welcoming environment for residents of all ages. Our younger residents enjoyed face painting, arts and crafts activities and of course the bouncy houses! Jammin Joe Johnson provided a great variety of music. MPDC board members and elected officials (State Representative Byron Rushing, Roxbury City Councilor Kim Janey) shared Roxbury history and pride with residents. Thank you to the MPDC youth leaders who assisted from set-up to clean-up. We appreciate NeighborWorks America, M. Mitchell and M. Fernandez, our major funder, for stopping by to celebrate national NeighborWorks.
