Madison Tropical LLC Parcel 10 Response to RFP

Madison Tropical LLC Parcel 10 Proposal Gains Traction

Proposed New Development on long-vacant Parcel 10 would positively change the direction of Dudley Square.

The Madison Park Development Corporation and Tropical Foods

International proposal to redevelop Parcel 10 at Melnea Cass Blvd. and Washington Street is making its way through Project Review. The City-owned parcel abuts the current Tropical Foods store on Washington Street, as well as apartments on Williams Street and Ruggles Street operated by Madison Park.

The proposal offers an exciting opportunity to move forward quickly with a development plan that will positively change the direction of Dudley Square.
The proposal includes a new building for Tropical Foods at Shawmut Avenue and Melnea Cass, a new building at Melnea Cass and Washington Street with retail, housing and commercial space, and the redevelopment of the old Tropical Foods building into retail and housing units.   As part of this plan, Madison Park will promote local business development and neighborhood jobs through retail and commercial business opportunities, job training and construction jobs.
